Providing the help you need to manage this process yourself

Building an Initial
College List
The first step of the college search is often the hardest. Most high schools rely on software to help generate a list of colleges to start the student's search. However, there is much more to finding a great fit than a list of colleges with your major.
Instead, I will spend two hours getting to know you and your student, discover what you are looking for in a college, while answering all your questions. At the end of our meeting, I will provide you with a diverse list of 20 to 25 colleges where your student can start his/her search. Your student won't like all of them but the important part is for your student to be able to explain why he/she likes certain schools.
Review Personal Statements
The personal statement (aka. college application essay) is one of the few aspects of the application where the senior still have full control over. While showing essay drafts to your teacher or friends make a lot sense, they aren't always the most objective. I will review your essay drafts and provide you with critical feedback on how to make them better.

Review Financial Aid Awards
With the new IRS Retrieval Tool, completing the FAFSA has become relatively simple. However, many financial aid award letters are less than straightforward. I will help you review and compare financial aid awards to ensure you can afford your student's college education.
SAT and ACT Guidance
The current pandemic has turned the standardized testing landscape upside down. I will help you navigate through the myriad of changes and map out a testing plan for your student, if needed.
